Infertility refers to the state when a couple is not able to become parents even after trying for long. Infertility affects both genders equally. Men are also affected by infertility as women do. When a man is unable to make his partner pregnant even after unprotected physical intercourse for a long time say a year or more than that, that condition is termed as Male infertility. When a couple finds difficulty in becoming parents, it is suggested that both husband and wife need to consult the Fertility specialist (fertility specialist in delhi).

SYMPTOMS OF MALE INFERTILITY :
The classical symptom is the inability of a man to make his partner pregnant. A man seems to be fit and healthy but can be infertile due to certain factors. There are no clinical features which can define infertility in a man.

CAUSES OF INFERTILITY IN MAN:
There can be certain causes to make a man infertile. Few are listed below :
Low testosterone
Varicocele – obstruction of the passage through which sperm ejaculates.
Low sperm count-Oligospermia
Zero sperm count- Azoospermia

HOW TO DIAGNOSE MALE INFERTILITY?

Testosterone level through blood test
Semen analysis to define the sperm parameters
Ultrasound scrotum to rule out varicocele

TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR INFERTILITY IN MEN:

Infertility in males is managed by an Andrologist (infertility doctor/specialist). There are few options to treat Male infertility depending upon the cause of it.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy – in case of low testosterone.
Microsurgical varicocelectomy– It is a surgical intervention carried out in general anaesthesia to correct the varicocele condition. Few infertility clinics (Fertility center in Delhi) are equipped with microscopes to perform the microsurgical varicocelectomy. Microscope is being used for better clinical outcome.

Microsurgical TESE(Testicular sperm extraction):
In this procedure, the Andrologist with the help of microscope extracts multiple samples of good quality sperm which is then checked thoroughly by the embryologist. If the extracted sperm is found within normal parameters then this procedure is followed by IVF (In vitro fertilization).

It is advised that every couple should get themselves checked for fertility regularly to avoid last minute hassle and expensive treatments.
